Christmas in July - Brunch 2026

Our “Christmas in July” brunch lived up to its billing as a festive day celebrating our incredible Madres community.

Thanks to your amazing efforts selling raffle tickets to the July 28 Padres game, we drew a winner: Pattie Short from Oceanside! We raised over $11,000 in this fundraiser which will go directly towards funding youth ball in San Diego next year. Thank you again for making this fundraiser a resounding success! And we’re giving a special shoutout to Andie Stevenson who sold over 180 tickets.

Our special guest Greg Garcia, former infielder for the Padres and other MLB teams, drew the raffle winner for us after sharing stories with the audience of his baseball journey. Greg was born and raised in San Diego and is now working for his father’s insurance company, coaching his daughter’s softball team, and involved in Padres events such as the team’s annual Fantasy Camp.

Speaking of Fantasy Camp, our other special guest was CBS8 sports reporter Jake Garegnani, who participated in the camp earlier this year. Jake shared many behind-the-scenes stories and told us that the best part was off the field sharing “a lot of life talk” with fellow campers and former big leaguers. Jake also shared his perspective on locker room interviews, including what it’s like to have Manny Machado get a bit chippy in response to a question!

And, of course, we hosted a youth player and his family: Daniel Almada, a 10-year-old from Murphy Canyon Little League.
